The short version. We collect only what we need to answer your enquiry, produce your assessment and do our work. We never sell it. We keep it in Canada-appropriate hands and delete it when it is no longer needed. You can ask to see it, correct it or have it removed at any time by emailing drew@parkwayfoodgroup.com. The full detail is below.

01Who this policy covers

This policy explains how Parkway Food Group (“Parkway”, “we”, “us”) collects, uses, discloses and protects personal information through parkwayfoodgroup.com and in the course of our advisory, brokerage and investment work. It applies to visitors to this website, people who complete our business assessment, and representatives of client and prospective client organisations.

It does not apply to third-party websites we link to, including publisher websites reached from our news section and our scheduling provider. Those services operate under their own privacy policies.

We handle personal information in accordance with Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and applicable provincial privacy legislation.

02Information we collect

Information you give us

  • Contact form. Your name, email address, and optionally your company, phone number and the content of your message.
  • Business assessment. Your name, company and work email, together with your answers to the assessment questions and the resulting capability scores.
  • Correspondence. Information contained in emails, calls and meetings, including notes we take about your business.
  • Scheduling. If you book a consultation, the details you provide to our scheduling provider.

Information collected automatically

  • Standard server log data such as IP address, browser type, referring page and timestamps.
  • Basic technical information needed to deliver the site, including your device type and screen size.

What we do not collect

We do not ask for and do not want financial account numbers, payment card details, government identification numbers, or health information. Please do not send these to us through this website.

03How we use your information

We use personal information for the following purposes:

  • To respond to you. Answering enquiries submitted through the contact form and following up on conversations.
  • To produce your assessment. Calculating your capability scores, generating your diagnostic report and, where you have asked us to, discussing the results with you.
  • To provide our services. Delivering advisory, brokerage and investment services under an engagement.
  • To improve the site. Understanding which sections are used so we can make them better.
  • To meet legal and professional obligations. Including record keeping and responding to lawful requests.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not rent, trade or otherwise make it available to third parties for their own marketing purposes.

Where you have submitted an assessment or an enquiry, we may contact you about services relevant to what you told us. You can ask us to stop at any time and we will.

04Consent and legal basis

In most cases we rely on your consent, which you give by submitting a form or by corresponding with us. Consent may be express, as when you complete the assessment and click through to view your results, or implied, as when you email us an enquiry.

We also process information where it is necessary to perform a contract with you, where we have a legitimate business interest that is not overridden by your privacy rights, or where the law requires it.

You may withdraw your consent at any time by writing to us. Withdrawal does not affect processing carried out before we received your request, and in some cases it may mean we can no longer provide a service to you.

05Who we share it with

We disclose personal information only in the following circumstances:

RecipientWhyWhat they receive
Hosting and database providerTo store form submissions and assessment resultsThe information you submit through our forms
Scheduling providerTo book and manage consultationsThe details you enter when booking
Professional advisersLegal, accounting and insurance adviceOnly what is necessary for the advice sought
AuthoritiesWhere required by law, court order or regulationOnly what is legally required

Our service providers act on our instructions under contractual terms requiring them to protect your information and use it only for the purposes we specify.

If Parkway is involved in a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, personal information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will require the recipient to honour the commitments in this policy, and we will tell you if your information becomes subject to a materially different policy.

06Storage and international transfer

Personal information is stored on servers operated by our hosting provider, which may be located outside Canada, including in the United States. When information is held in another country it is subject to the laws of that country, and may in some circumstances be accessible to that country’s courts and law enforcement or national security authorities.

We select providers that offer a level of protection comparable to that required in Canada and we put contractual protections in place. If you would like more detail about where your information is held, write to us at drew@parkwayfoodgroup.com.

07How we protect it

We maintain physical, organisational and technical safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the information we hold. These include encrypted connections to this website, access controls limiting who within Parkway can see client information, and confidentiality obligations for everyone working with us.

No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. While we work hard to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security, and any transmission is at your own risk. If we become aware of a breach that creates a real risk of significant harm to you, we will notify you and the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada as the law requires.

08How long we keep it

  • Contact enquiries. Kept for up to three years from our last contact with you, so we have context if you come back to us.
  • Assessment submissions. Kept for up to three years, so we can discuss your results and track how your business has changed.
  • Client engagement records. Kept for seven years after the engagement ends, to meet professional and legal record-keeping obligations.
  • Server logs. Kept for a short operational period and then discarded.

When information is no longer needed for the purpose it was collected for, we delete it or render it anonymous.

09Cookies and tracking

This website is deliberately light on tracking. We do not use advertising cookies, we do not run third-party advertising pixels, and we do not build behavioural profiles of visitors.

The site stores a small amount of information in your browser to remember preferences such as your position in the assessment. This stays on your device and is never transmitted to us.

Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts and interactive libraries from a public content delivery network. Those providers may log the request as a normal part of serving the file. Our news section loads headlines through a public feed-reading service; that request contains no information about you beyond what any web request contains.

Most browsers let you block or delete stored site data through their settings. The site works with those features turned on.

10Your rights

Subject to limited legal exceptions, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you, and be told how it has been used and disclosed.
  • Correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete.
  • Withdraw consent to our continued use of your information.
  • Request deletion of your information, where we are not required to keep it.
  • Complain about how we have handled your information.

To exercise any of these rights, write to drew@parkwayfoodgroup.com or call 1-416-722-1854. We will respond within thirty days. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request, and we will tell you if an exception applies and why.

If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada at priv.gc.ca or 1-800-282-1376.

11Children

This website and our services are directed at businesses and the people who run them. They are not intended for children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of sixteen. If you believe a child has provided us with information, contact us and we will delete it.

12Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as our practices, the services we use, or the law change. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last revised. Material changes will be announced on this page, and where the change affects how we use information you have already given us, we will contact you directly.
